WHAT DOES NVIDIA RTX GRAPHICS BRINGS TO THE TABLE? ARE THEY WORTH IT?

Nvidia recently announced it's new graphics card lineup called the RTX in Gamescom Germany 2018. Nvidia is changing the way graphics work in a video game by introducing 'Real Time Ray Tracing Effect'. But most people don't know what Ray Tracing actually is.
Let me explain:

Thanks to Nvidia's new turing architecture. Ray tracing is a new and advanced technology that helps the video game developers to make a more realistic game by adding the perfect lighting effect. They have been testing this for the past 10-15 years.
This changes the way we play games. Game developers have been adding artificial lighting for the longest time in the games to give somewhat realistic effect, but with help of RTX, they can now do it naturally like Nvidia showed an example during their presentation.

As from the above video demonstrated during the event, we can see how much improvement is present for light tracking, and how light is being reflected off the stormtroopers. Many more examples were also shown by Nvidia, my personal favorite was in Battlefield 5 that gives a realistic light effect in the eye of a character.

Nvidia claims that these new graphics cards will give 6 times better performance compared to the last generation of graphics card. The pricing of the card has also been revealed with RTX 2070 for $499, RTX 2080 for $699, RTX 2080ti for $999 and RTX 2080ti founder's edition for $1199. They will be available to everyone on September 20th, 2018 from all the providers like ASUS, EVGA, Gigabyte, MSI, PNY, and Zotac.

Nvidia says that the RTX 2080ti is designed for overclocking and is clocked at 1350MHz with 4352 CUDA cores and 11GB of GDDR6 RAM. RTX 2070 is designed to offer more performance than the Titan XP card and is clocked at 1410MHz with 2304 CUDA cores and 8GB of GDDR6 RAM.

While Nvidia is claiming to give 6 times more performance than that compared to the GTX series of Graphics. The company is attempting to redefine performance comparisons that are limited to how well the new cards perform. Nvidia doesn’t even list the traditional floating point operations per second (known as teraflops) and has opted to hype two new performance capabilities.

Still, more time should be spent with these new graphics cards to get to a final conclusion. Benchmarks and real-life gaming comparisons have to be done. Even though Nvidia is claiming that over 21 games till now will take advantage of the new Ray-Tracing Technology.
